What is a Potluck?
A good potluck really is the best way to make (and try!) so many new foods! They are my favorite parties because they are full of friends and family and they are low budget since you are all pitching in by bringing a dish! I love that you aren’t tied down to one type of food. You can literally bring whatever your heart desires! In fact, there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to what food is at a potluck. I mean the actual definition of potluck is “a chance that whatever is available will prove to be good or acceptable.” That tells me that you can bring literally anything!
I have put together my most favorite tried and true potluck recipes. You will find everything on here from salads to desserts to fruits to dips. There are sweet and savory options, depending on what one you prefer and there is a wide variety making it easy to pick whatever you are in the mood for. I also love how simple recipes are like this. Throwing together a potluck recipe is quick and easy since they aren’t main dishes! They work at BBQs, holiday gatherings, and family events and will be a home run no matter what one you bring them to! They are all absolutely amazing and I know that you will find something that you love!
Food categories: You want to make sure that you don’t end up with all desserts or all salads. So make sure to assign your guest a catgory. Appetizer, salad, dessert or drinks! Containers: If you are attending a potluck, make sure to store your food in an airtight container that will travel well! You definitely don’t want to risk it spilling in your car on the way over!Keep the recipe small: Make sure that you aren’t doubling you recipe. Because there are so many dishes that will be eaten at once, smaller portions are better!
